Maria de Fatima pulls it all together in her own unique way.
Maria de Fatima grew up in Lisbon at a time when fado reigned in the local bars while the new sounds of bossa nova dominated the radio stations. These sounds and the emotions they evoke are at the core of her musical development which began to unfold during her studies at the Hilversum Music Conservatory in the Netherlands. She studied jazz vocals and later settled in Germany where she currently teaches at the Music Conservatory in Oldenburg and the School for Fine Arts in Bremen.
