Brigitte Angerhausen

At the age of five, Brigitte started taking classical piano lessons from Yoko Fujimoto, which she continued while studying for her audio engineering degree at Columbia College, Chicago. During this period she expanded her musical palette by exploring various styles of music, such as Blues, Jazz, Rock and film scores, while playing numerous concerts with different groups.

Since 1988 she has been involved in countless recording sessions and CD productions, working as producer and sound engineer for internationally renowned artists, such as Nelly Furtado, Sheryl Crow, Mark Knopfler, Patti Austin, Vince Mendoza, Toots Thielemanns, Michael Riesler, Tabea Zimmermann, Hilary Hahn, Lydie Auvray, Konrad Beikircher, Hans-Dieter Hüsch, Michael von der Heide, BAP, WDR (West German Radio) Symphony Orchestra and the WDR Big Band.

A strong urge to create her own music convinced Brigitte to return to the keyboard and the past years have seen her passionately studying jazz piano with Hendrik Soll and Pablo Paredes in Cologne, Germany.

She began writing music for radio and theatre plays, further compositions and arrangements followed and, since 2003, have been brought to life with the trio “Puente” (music performed on acoustic instruments, feeding on classical music as well as improvisation and Jazz). Her collaborators in “Puente” are Anne Kaftan, soprano saxophone/bass clarinet and Ulrike Zavelberg, cello.
