CD: A Guitar Named Carla

Wonderful! I'm honoured that such an imaginative guitarist has chosen to arrange and record a series of my compositions, and flattered that he named his guitar Carla. In return, I'm going to call my piano Rüdiger. I can picture myself saying, 'C'mon Rüdiger, spit out another one of those damn compositions you used to give me on a regular basis' - Carla Bley. 'It's really a carefully made album, in all its aspects - choice of songs, your playing (and ours too), the wonderful sonic variety you've gotten out of various guitars, the sequencing, the mix... I wish it great success. Thanks for taking such care with Carla's music. Very respectful of what she wrote, but also a very inventive transformation into guitar music. I think you've done a remarkable job of bringing Carla's music to life on that instrument. All the thought and care you've put into this project has turned out to be worth the effort, and you can be very proud of what you've done
