Preston Glasgow Lowe / Preston Glasgow Lowe

Preston Glasgow Lowe

release date: 29 Apr 2016
The British jazz trio Preston - Glasgow - Lowe have released an energetic and technically exciting debut album, "Preston Glasgow Lowe", which contains a total of ten original pieces with a running time of around 65 minutes.
David Preston (guitar), Kevin Glasgow (six-string electric bass) and Laurie Lowe (drums) have been active together in London since 2012. Their dexterous, virtuosic, texturally rich and colourful playing is characterized by complex riffs, thunderous rhythms, overdubs and subtle, sparingly used electronic elements.
The sonic spectrum on the album ranges from open, rather contemplative pieces to melodic guitar broadsides and insistent drum outbursts to turbulent, heavyweight maelstrom sounds. In this way, the three up-and-coming musicians succeed in injecting a juvenile rock attitude into the good old jazz genre in a fruitful, inventive and inspiring way, without having to swing the fusion hammer.
