In 28 years on stage and during 23 years with her band Les Auvrettes, Lydie Auvray has always enjoyed making music with others.
"Pure" is different, solo. It's all about the accordion. The whole dynamic that is in the bellows of the accordion and that makes up its life is shown. The quietest, saddest single notes through to the loudest, life-affirming chord can be heard and felt. The accordion sounds in the room as if Lydie Auvray herself were sitting in front of or next to the listener. Sound engineer Brigitte Angershausen and co-producer Gerd Krenz have achieved this feat by using special microphones. This can be experienced particularly vividly in the surround sound of the SACD mode of the hybrid CD. But even as CD audio, "Pure" sounds ravishingly natural.
