Christian McBride's New Jawn is back with their highly anticipated sophomore album, the follow-up to McBride's GRAMMY-nominated, Philly-centric group.

Featuring original compositions by each band member as well as new interpretations of songs by Sonny Rollins, Ornette Coleman and Larry Young, this group offers 8-time GRAMMY award winner McBride an exciting space of exploration in which to spread his veteran wings. Christian McBride is a multiple GRAMMY Award-winning bassist/composer and host of the NPR program Jazz Night in America.

He has also been active as a leader since his debut album in 1995. In addition to various appearances with Sting, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Roy Haynes, Freddie Hubbard and George Duke, McBride has been artist-in-residence and artistic director for organizations such as Jazz House Kids, Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Jazz Museum in Harlem, Jazz Asoen and NJPAC (New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark). McBride tours regularly with his quartet The New Jawn. He also fronts the GRAMMY-winning Christian McBride Big Band, whose Mack Avenue recordings "The Good Feeling" and "Bringin' It" won the GRAMMY Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album in 2012 and 2017, respectively. McBride was recently named Artistic Director of the historic Newport Jazz Festival, taking over from longtime Artistic Director and founder of the festival, George Wein.
