Three years after the release of Artemis’s critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, the ensemble returns in 2023 with a follow-up album that once again highlights the band members’ improvisational skills and their talent as composers.
The follow-up, *In Real Time*, features a new lineup consisting of founding members pianist Renee Rosnes, drummer Allison Miller, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, and bassist Noriko Ueda, along with two new members: tenor saxophonist Nicole Grover and flutist Alexa Tarantino.
The eight-track set features compelling originals by the band members as well as cover versions of pieces by Lyle Mays (“Slink”) and Wayne Shorter (“Penelope”).
