A lot has changed since Trio Grande's first release in 2020, not least within the band itself: The great multi-instrumentalist Nate Wood is now part of the tirelessly creative partnership forged by Gilad Hekselman and Will Vinson in New York City.
The basic triumvirate of drums, guitar and alto saxophone remains, and though each member is among the most individual and influential practitioners of their own instrument, the unmistakable, enduring character of Trio Grande unites them all into a unique identity of their own, one that continues to grow and evolve at its own pace to create new possibilities of form and texture, composition and improvisation.
