Trompete/ Flügelhorn
Magnus Schriefl belongs to the outstanding trumpet players of the young generation. In 2011 he won the National Trumpet Competition in Fairfax/Virginia and was second placed at the Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Competition in Springfield/Missouri. His merits as a performer include an invitation as featured soloist to the Jazz Baltica Jazz Festival in Salzau, Germany, appearances with the European Jazz Orchestra, the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra and concerts with artists like Randy Brecker, Johannes Enders and Seamus Blake.
Magnus started playing the trumpet when he was five years old. He studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, at the Conservatoire National Supérieure de Musique et de Danse de Paris, the Jazz-Institut Berlin and at the Manhattan School of Music, where he holds a Master's Degree. His teachers include Laurie Frink, Phil Markowitz, Gerard Presencer and David Liebman.
