"... a wonderful jazz vocalist..." (Cadence Magazine, US)

Trained in Vienna and at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Anne Hartkamp offers great depth of expression, a rich variety of vocal possibilities and moves with light-footed sovereignty even in complex musical contexts.
Anne Hartkamp has worked with the likes of Gunter Hampel, Jerry van Rooyen/WDR Bigband, Perry Robinson, Marion Brown, Angelika Niescier, Manfred Schoof, John Goldsby - but above all she became known with her own formations such as her quartet and the duo “Magnolia”.

“...one of those German singers from whom one would like to hear something new more often...” (Jazzpodium)
Anne Hartkamp

The singer and vocalist Anne Hartkamp stands for intensity, versatility and artistic independence.

She studied (jazz) singing in Vienna (A) and at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten; the singer has worked for many years with Gunter Hampel, as well as with Perry Robinson, WDR Bigband, Frédéric Rabold, Thomas Heberer, Axel Dörner, Marion Brown, Manfred Schoof, John Goldsby, Frank Köllges, Angelika Niescier and many others, attracting attention above all with her own musical projects.

With playful ease and an expressive voice, she creates magically touching and sparklingly captivating moments, delights with her lively stage presence and impresses with the complexity and originality of her compositions and lyrics.

Hartkamp has been working together with Düsseldorf guitarist Philipp van Endert in the duo “Magnolia” since 2004; the duo's third album, “EMBRACE”, was released in January 2025 (“music like an embrace” (Jazzthetik) - “sophisticated and enchanting solos” (hr) - “ magical interplay” (kulturnews)).
With her quintet/quartet (with Thomas Rückert, p, André Nendza, b, Oliver Rehmann, dr) she has released two highly acclaimed albums as well as a Bill Evans tribute, “Dear Bill” (2015) featuring Rückert and special guest John Goldsby (b).

Anne Hartkamp is also active as a theater musician and has performed in two productions by Cologne N.N. Theater and in a collaboration between Theater Oberhausen and werkgruppe 2. She also passes on her passion for music through teaching: for example in the annual “jazzemble” workshop, which she teaches together with Philipp van Endert, André Nendza, Angelika Niescier and Christoph Hillmann, or as part of her teaching activities at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.

“...beguiling... Hartkamp can tell stories... with casual ease” (jazzthetik)
