Ángela Moya Domínguez started her violin studies at the age of eight at the Conservatorio Elemental de Música “La Palmera” in her hometown, Seville, with the teacher Miriam Piñero. Later she studied the Professional Intermediate-Level at the Conservatorio “Francisco Guerrero”, obtaining the first prize “Jóvenes Instrumentistas 2005”. She finished her oficial Advanced Violin Degree at the Conservatorio “Manuel Castillo” having Professor Lourdes Galache as a mentor.
In 2005 she joined the Academy of Orchestral Studies of the Barenboim-Said Foundation, under the tutelage of the German Professor Axel Wilczok (Berliner Staatskapelle).
In 2011 she moved to The Netherlands to study Bachelor of Music in the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht under the supervision of Chris Duindam (modern violin) and Antoinette Lohmann (baroque violin). She completed her studies of Master of Music at the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Tilburg taking lessons with musicians like Elisabeth Perry, Eeva Koskinen, Mirel Iancovici or Wouter Vossen.

Ángela took modern and baroque violin masterclasses with Professors like Kevork Mardirossian, Michael Thomas, Karin-Regina Florey, Kristoff Barati, Anton Barachovsky, Andrei Baranov, Jordi Jiménez, Hiro Kurosaki or Enrico Onofri.

She has played in many youth and professional orchestras in Spain and The Netherlands, among others the Orquesta Joven de Andalucía, Orquesta de Cámara Andaluza, Orquesta Ciudad de Almería, Orquesta Melkart, Archivo 415, Orquesta Almaclara, Concerto Barocco, Baroque Ensemble Eik & Linde, Philharmonia Amsterdam, Het Promenade Orkest, Camerata Rotterdam or Nederlands Jeugd Orkest, under the baton of conductors like Michael Thomas, Enrique Mazzola, Richard Egarr, Oliver Knutsen, Manuel Hernández Silva or Daniel Barenboim.

Within the field of Chamber Music, we can highlight her experience in Hombra String Quartet, based in Utrecht and under the tutelage of the Utrecht String Quartet or Storioni Trio among others. In 2014 they won the First Prize of De Toonzaal Kamermuziekwedstrijd.

From 2017 she is the second violin of the Alberti String Quartet, based in Amsterdam, that takes part from may 2017 in the Stichting Muziek in Huis, giving a large number of concerts along The Netherlands.

In 2020 she recorded her first double CD with the jazz ensemble Chamber9, playing music by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, arranged by guitarist Axel Hagen.

From 2020 Ángela plays as second violin in the Eudora Quartet, a group that platforms music written by women composers.

Ángela develops her interest in Violin Pedagogy in an active way, following courses and seminars with Professors like Peter de Leeuw (Utrecht) or Claudio Forcada (London). She currently works as violin teacher at the music schools Het Wilde Westen in Utrecht and De Kom Kunstencentrum in Nieuwegein.

In 2015 she presented her research about “Stage Fright of Violin Players” in Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Tilburg, obtaining an excellent review of the evaluation committee.

Ángela plays a modern violin of 2017 built by Daniel Royé in Amsterdam, and an anonymous Austrian baroque violin built in 1823.
