Holger Renneberg, born in 1966, got his first trombone when he was ten and joined the Jazzband at his school in 1980.
After several years of listening to vintage Big-Band-Jazz, he decided to play the tuba in addition to his trombone. From 1990 to 1993 he was the tuba player of the 'Delta Mood Jazzband, which was a local jazz-trio that played all over Germany, and since 1993 he plays the tuba with the 'Harmony Hoppers' from Göttingen. He also played as a substitute in his former schoolband, so he stayed close to Big-Band-Jazz.
Nowadays he is, in addition to the 'Harmony Hoppers', the tuba player of the 'German Classic Jazz Orchestra' and, since 1985, the trombone player of the 'New Orleans Syncopators' from Göttingen. He also plays both instruments as a substitute and on sessions in his region and in Berlin.
