Carlos Sarduy
trumpet
Carlos Sarduy is a spectacular trumpeter and percussionist, as well as a pianist and composer. Born in Havana, Cuba, he began playing the trumpet at the age of 4, experiencing a unique and special childhood where he was already developing as a musician at an early age. He is praised for his sound, great musicality, and incredible musical versatility. Sarduy’s compositions are contemporary and multi-layered, influenced by the Afro-Cuban tradition of the streets as well as today’s international Jazz scene. He equally identifies with the masters of Cuban, American, and African traditions and has developed a unique sound that effortlessly navigates between these roots and transcendent melodic soundscapes, almost futuristic in nature.
His new project reflects the utmost artistic freedom, where the stage becomes a playground for musical “siblings” in spirit. When the four musicians who make up the band come together, melody, improvisation, and rhythm cook up a gourmet musical “dish.”
