About
Jakub Klimiuk Quintet is a London-based ensemble that fuses elements of modern jazz inspired by the New York scene with influences drawn from the Scandinavian improvised music scene. The resultant repertoire is a thrilling combination of scripted forms and improvised sections, constantly entwining melodic compositions and experimental sonic escapades. The distinctive sound of the band is shaped by the unique creative voices of five highly in-demand young musicians who have individually worked with Martin Speake, Tom Challenger, Hans Koller, Donovan Haffner.
The band will be joined by the saxophonist Mark Lockheart as a special guest to perform material from their new album.
„(...) Klimiuk has an ability to create a warm harmonic ambiance around the sound of the others, it is only a matter of time before someone mistakes his sound and his generous spirit for those of the great Bill Frisell.” Sebastian Scotney (London Jazz News)
