Founded in 2022 by pianist and composer Hajo Wiesemann, the Geysir Quartett is dedicated to a new form of chamber music that transcends genre boundaries. By expanding musical vocabulary and instrumental sound possibilities, the quartet broadens the expressive range of contemporary ensemble playing. The four musicians move effortlessly between jazz, global chamber music, experimental improvisation, and pop. Their music – including compositions by all four members – combines high energy with the intensity of intimate, quiet moments, creating a deeply engaging and inspiring concert experience.
