At the age of thirteen, Thomas Lähns (born in 1981 in Basel) startet to study the double bass at the MusicAcademy of Basel under Wolfgang Güttler and Botond Kostyak. 2008 he obtained the concert diploma. In jazz he has played with well-known musicians such as Dave Liebman, Greg Osby, Glenn Ferris, and Wolfgang Puschnig. Together with Florian and Michael Arbenz, he is one of the founding members of the Jazz-Trio Vein. He is also a member of Christoph Stiefel's Inner Language Trio.

<p>&lt;p&gt;At the age of thirteen, Thomas L&amp;#228;hns (born in 1981 in Basel) came to Tibor Elekes as his bassstudent. In 2001 he started to study the double bass at the MusicAcademy of Basel under Wolfgang G&amp;#252;ttler and Botond Kostyak. In 2005 he completed his teacher's diploma. In jazz he has played with well-known musicians such as Dave Liebman, Greg Osby, Glenn Ferris, and Wolfgang Puschnig. Together with Florian and Michael Arbenz, he is one of the founding members of the Jazz-Trio Vein. He is also a member of Christoph Stiefel's Inner Language Trio.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In classics he has worked under notable conductors such as Heinz Hollinger or Peter E&amp;#246;tv&amp;#246;s. Thomas L&amp;#228;hns has just obtained the concert diploma and is a member of the Basle Sinfonietta.&lt;/p&gt;</p>
