Stephan Emig, born Jan. 7th 1976 in Kassel, Germany
He started to play the drums at the age of thirteen
First he studied at the Modern Music School, Giessen afterwards at the L. A. Music Academy, California
Since 1998 he is working as a professional studio and live-drummer and
percussionist, and thanks to LIVE as a programmer/ producer.
His current projects:
- playing with former leadsinger of the Dissidenten Hamid Baroudi and
his multinational band, recording and touring worldwide with him a. o.
at WOMAD Festivals, Montreal Jazzfest, Winnipeg Folkfest, UN Against
Racism South Africa and many more well known World-Music-Festivals
- touring and recording with Triosence, piano-trio from Cologne, signed
with Mons (ger) and Polystar (jp), winner of several jazz-awards and one
of the upcoming jazz-groups in Germany
- touring and recording with Cuba Libre, Son-Latinpop-Group with
musicians from Spain, Japan and Germany.
- touring and recording with chillgmbh, experimental
electronic-music-group, creating improvised audio-environments
- clinics for SONOR drums
Stephan's work includes: Musicals Hair, The Black Rider, Bonifatius; El
Housseine Kili, Sounds of Saba, the book "Future Drumming" with Dirk
Brand (AMA), Joy Basu, DJ Kid Fresh (DMC Champion/ Rhymellow), DJ
Schmoove (Documenta), DJ RAS (Sonarkollektiv)...
