Christian Kögel began to study classical guitar at the age of ten.
Kögel moved to Berlin in 1990 and founded his own trio, that won several jazz-competitions in Germany
From 1998 - 2000 Kögel studied oud and traditional arabic music with the syrian master Farhan Sabbagh.
Christian Kögel teaches jazz-guitar in Berlin and is member of the teaching staff of several international Jazz-Workshops like the Creative Music Workshop in Halifax and Giant Steps in Berlin.
