Lucia Bakaiová Quintet
Slovak singer Lucia Bakaiová shares joy and energy through her voice. Her musical journey began in Slovak folk traditions, gradually leading her to explore various genres. From pop, gypsy swing, and funk, she eventually found her way to jazz. She is currently studying jazz vocals at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands. However, her professional beginnings were shaped by the teachers of Prague’s Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and the musicians she collaborated with during her six years in Prague. Lucia will present a selection of her own compositions, complemented by unique arrangements of her favorite songs. Listeners can expect a mix of jazz, pop, and folk influences, along with modern groovy rhythms. It would be difficult to categorize her music into a single genre—but one thing is certain: the stories behind these songs have deeply resonated with her, earning them a place in her repertoire. If you’re curious to find out why, come and hear her for yourself!
