Jazz-Konzerte mit Rolf Thofte

Trompete
Rolf Thofte was born on the Island Samsø in 1988. Both parents were amateur musicians, the father played the trumpet and had a record collection with Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, Lee Morgan and many others. At age 12, Rolf picked up the trumpet and played duets with his father every night after dinner. Other than that, he was self-taught until he left Samsø at age 17. At Sankt Annæ Gymnasium he studied with Thomas Fryland who became a strong influence. Along the way, Thofte studied with Laurie Frink, Scott Wendholt, Ralph Alessi, Adam Rapa and many others.
After graduating from the conservatory in Copenhagen he has established himself as one of the most prolific trumpeters on the Danish Jazz scene. Thofte performs frequently with the best big bands in the country such as Aarhus Jazz Orchestra, Copenhagen Jazz Orchestra and the DR Big Band.
As a member of Anders Fjeldsted Sextet he won the prestigious jazz competition in Getxo in 2018.
Thofte co-led a quintet with tenor saxophonist Simon Thorsen (Thofte/Thorsen Quintet) and released to albums: "Fermina" in 2016 and "Vol. 2" in 2022.
