achim kämper studied fine art in the netherlands & made a decision to primairly channel this multidisciplinary sensibility in to his work as a musician. now based in dortmund, germany, some of his achievements have been: awarded the jazzwerkruhr prize in 2006; establishment & curation of the first freeform college radio show in the ruhr area; long-time member of the innovative large band/improv collective 'the dorf'; completely DIY production of his latest cd 'choose your favorite nothing'.

achim kämper started listening to music and buying lps seriously at age of eight. in his youth he studied fine art in the netherlands and made a decision to primairly channel this multidisciplinary sensibility in to his work as a musician, improvisor and songwriter after choosing to leave the academy. now based in dortmund, germany, some of his recent achievements have been: awarded the jazzwerkruhr prize in 2006 for his dvd 'kuhzunft', featuring his films and music videos; establishment & curation of the first freeform college radio show in the ruhr area, 2005-present; long-time member of the innovative large band/improv collective 'the dorf'; completely DIY production of his latest cd 'choose your favorite nothing' featuring original artwork in a hand-made limited edition.
