Kristina Brodersen Quartett

KRISTINA 4 is the name of the new project from Cologne-based alto saxophonist Kristina Brodersen. Together with trumpeter Bastian Stein, bassist Christian Ramond, and drummer Silvio Morger, she performs original compositions written specifically for this ensemble and recorded on the album “On & On” (Jazzwerkstatt). The absence of a harmony instrument opens up new spaces for all musicians to interpret the compositions with great freedom. Kristina was inspired to create this project by the music of Ornette Coleman, Steve Lacy, and her mentor Lee Konitz (1937-2020), who wrote: "I’ve known Kristina for many years and I am pleased at hearing her play so naturally well."
