Alan Paul is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed vocal group, The Manhattan Transfer. He is an 8-time GRAMMY winner and eighteen-time Grammy nominee. He started his career on Broadway at the age of 12 in the original cast of "Oliver" and returning to Broadway in the original production of "Grease". Besides his accomplishments as a singer and performer, his contributions as a writer and vocal arranger are well represented having penned such songs as:
Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone, Code Of Ethics, Smile Again, Spies In The Night, Malaise en Malaisie, All Heart, The Quietude, What Goes Around Comes Around, Santa Man, It's Good Enough To Keep, Stompin' At Mahogany Hall, Nothin' Could Be Hotter Than That, Ragtime In Pixiland, Swing Balboa (Down On Riverside) Paradise Within and Artie Shaw's The Man I Love.
He received Grammy nominations for his vocal arrangements for Boy From NYC, Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone and Ray's Rockhouse and was nominated for Best Jazz Vocal Male for " I Remember Clifford". He has recorded two solo albums, "Another Place and Time" and "Shoo Bob"

From his alma mater, Kean University, he holds a BA in Music Education and an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities. Along with his Transfer partners, he received an honorary Doctor of Music from Berklee School of Music and was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and East Coast Hall of Fame.
In 2024, Alan was included into The Marquis Who's Who in America publication board for his contributions in the Field of Music. He is currently working on his memoir and a documentary on The Manhattan Transfer.
