DESCRIPTION:tickets: https://jazz-concerts.com/en/event/46066\n\nFelix Peikli & Friends ft. Tricia Boutté: The Music of Billie Holiday\nFew have left a legacy as profound as Billie Holiday. Emerging in the 1930s alongside the great swing orchestras\, Holiday quickly became known for her deeply expressive style and distinctive phrasing. Rather than relying on vocal power\, she reshaped melodies with subtle timing and emotional nuance\, influencing generations of jazz singers. Her recordings of songs such as “God Bless the Child\,” “Strange Fruit\,” and “Lover Man” remain among the most powerful and enduring in jazz history.
In this Season Finale\, Felix Peikli & Friends featuring the unparalleled artist Tricia Boutté\, the celebrated New Orleans vocalist\, present a tribute to Billie Holiday’s extraordinary artistry. With Boutté’s soulful voice and the ensemble’s elegant swing\, the program revisits Holiday’s timeless repertoire\, capturing the intimacy\, depth\, and storytelling that made “Lady Day” one of the most iconic voices in jazz!\n
